ABOUT ME

DSC_5621 (2).JPG

I'm lucky enough to live in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. My work includes six novels and many short stories, covering aspects of romance, magical realism, suspense and historical fiction.

The Benjamin Bradstock Trilogy began when my mother and I decided to record the story of her childhood. The diary in Snowflakes and Apple Blossom is based on this story, and the rest was born of my imagination. This novel was received so well by the Peak District village in which I've lived for the past 19 years that I was inspired to write a murder mystery based on the village - called One Tiny Mistake.

My first novel was shortlisted for the Writers' Village International Novel Award. This encouraged me to publish my second novel, One Tiny Mistake. I then wrote a sequel to Snowflakes, called Seasalt and Midnight Brandy, and this was serialised on BBC Radio in December 2018. Wow!

The final novel in this trilogy is Stardust and Vanilla Spice. Much of the research for this book was based around Paris and the Holocaust, which I found riveting - I just could not stop reading.

The sequel to One Tiny Mistake is entitled Murder on Her Doorstep and I'm really pleased with it. I finished writing it during the first COVID19 Lockdown and it was the best form of escape ever - particularly the chapters where April runs off to Cornwall.

I've just published my sixth novel, The Girl at the Edge of Time. A very spooky thriller, I'm really pleased with it.

My spare time is spent on long walks, practising yoga, reading, writing, eating chocolate, and treading the boards of the amateur stage. I live in the Peak District with my husband and twin boys.

My favourite part of the writing process is the research. I find it fascinating and really do 'learn something new every day.' I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I love writing them.
